The Queen may be required to give evidence at the inquest into Princess Diana's death, it emerged yesterday.

According to The Sun, lawyers for Mohamed Fayed have demanded that Her Majesty be made to explain comments that she made in 1997 to Paul Burrell after Diana's death.

Diana's former butler says that the Queen warned him of "powers at work about which we have no knowledge".
