Nothing was official as of late Wednesday night, but it looks like Manny Ramirez may have played his last game with the Boston Red Sox.
Various published reports Wednesday claimed that Boston was close to trading disgruntled outfielder Ramirez to the Florida Marlins in a three-team deal with the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Baseball Prospectus reported that the teams had agreed to the deal, pending Ramirez waiving his no-trade clause and league approval.
The proposed trade had the Red Sox getting outfielder Jason Bay (above) and reliever John Grabow from Pittsburgh; the Marlins acquiring Ramirez, cash and a prospect from the Red Sox and the Pirates getting outfielder Jeremy H[...]
