the deadly storm

Hurricane Gustav made landfall as a Category 2 hurricane about 70 miles southwest of New Orleans, coming ashore after days of massive evacuations.
The storm, which came ashore around 11 a.m. ET, brought heavy rain and maximum sustained winds of 110 miles an hour. Damage to energy infrastructure was seen as less than feared.

Have you wondered why these hurricanes always have russian names? Ivan in 2004, Katrina in 2005 and Gustav in 2008.
