Five charged in two suspected South Austin gambling rings

Five people suspected of illegal gambling in South Austin were arrested last week and charged with engaging in organized criminal activity, police said today. On Thursday, police found several gambling machines and more than $20,000 in cash at a business at 523 Thompson Lane, according to an arrest affidavit.
