Possibly 4th Street: Alabama 3 a/k/a A3

Rob Trucks's "Possibly 4th Street" expositions, in which he invites musicians to perform live and impromptu somewhere in New York City, run intermittently here at Sound of the City. photos by Rob Trucks Possibly 4th Street Number 16 (Part One) Alabama 3 a/k/a A3 The Alabama 3, at least stateside, are now known as the A3. Trail of howlin' wolf

BOISE, Idaho -- Snug in her sleeping bag near Bull Trout Lake about midnight, Teresa Loya heard the howls. The first started high and then dropped an octave lower. Curb Your Enthusiasm: The Pop Montreal Edition

Dear Pop Montreal, You know I love you. And I know you're excited to have such a very prestigious guest star this year. Pop Montreal, sweetheart, may I introduce you to Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, George Gershwin, John Coltrane, Bing Crosby, W.C. Handy, Robert Johnson, Jimmie Rogers, Judy Garland, Frank Sinatra...

James Peterson - 1990 - Rough And Ready [VBR] [Blues-Rock]

Florida-based guitarist, singer and songwriter James Peterson plays a gritty style of southern-fried blues that is at times reminiscent of Howlin' Wolf and other times more along the lines of Freddie King. In 1970, Peterson recorded his first album, The Father, Son and the Blues on the Perception/Today label. While he ran his blues club at night, he supplemented his income by running a...

Tommy Bankhead - 2000 - Message To St. Louis [128] [Blues-Rock]

Before he was old enough to legally take a drink, Tommy Bankhead was playing the blues with a long list of legendary musicians that included Howlin' Wolf, Elmore James, Sonny Boy Williamson, Joe Willie Wilkins, Robert Nighthawk, and Joe Hill Louis.
